About the Team

The role will be part of the Data Center Capacity Team, which is dedicated to optimizing and managing resources for our data centers. Located primarily on the West Coast, the team embodies a collaborative and innovative culture focused on delivering efficient solutions to meet customer demands. The mission of the Data Center Capacity Team at Nutanix is to ensure that all data center operations align with business objectives, supporting scalability and reliability while fostering a proactive approach to capacity planning and resource allocation.

You will report to the Senior Manager Capacity Planning, Who champions a hands-on leadership style that emphasizes empowerment and open communication within the team. This role is fully remote, allowing flexibility in work hours; however, occasional team gatherings may be required, which will be determined based on operational needs and team alignment.

The position may involve some travel, estimated at about 10% as needed, though travel will not be a regular requirement for this role. Any travel will be coordinated to support team objectives and may include visiting data center locations or attending relevant industry meetings.

 

Your Role

  • Monitor and analyze capacity metrics, aligning hardware requirements with datacenter resources.
  • Manage incoming requests through ticketing systems, prioritizing tasks and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Execute hands-on technical tasks, including server builds, configuration, and troubleshooting hardware issues.
  • Coordinate procurement and vendor relations to ensure timely hardware orders and address shipment discrepancies.
  • Support documentation efforts to maintain accurate records of capacity plans, shipments, and operational processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with Data Center Operations to support physical server deployments, including racking and cabling.
  • Establish strong communication channels with internal stakeholders to keep them informed of hardware status and project timelines.

 

What You Will Bring

  • Strong knowledge of datacenter infrastructure and network architecture.
  • Experience with server builds, hardware assembly, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage capacity planning and translate demand into hardware needs.
  • Proficiency in tools like Jira and ServiceNow for ticket management and order tracking.
  • Strong project management skills, including deadline management and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-team alignment and documentation.
  • Familiarity with operational metrics to identify process improvements.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

 

Work Arrangement

Remote: This position is primarily remote. There is no specific in-office requirement, however, there may be circumstances where you may be required to come into a local office for a specific purpose, and/or to travel to other locations based on business needs.

 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 99,200 and USD $ 198,000 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
